03/23/04:
Alright! Two daily updates in a week! I must be on a
updating high here or something! By the way, it's 5:16AM
right now, so it's definitely a very, very early update.
By the way, I may not be able to update anything in a
while, since I'm finally going to visit home later today
(Haven't been back in almost 4 months), and since we
don't have a scanner back home, I have to apologize for
unable to update again.
By the way, today's comic strip may seem made up,
but I can assure you with my own life, that it is not.
Microcenter is this little computer retail chain, but
they do pay pretty good(Tons better than my Blockbuster
job), so I'll be a pretty happy monkey if I get hired.
Plus, they offer free computer classes, which is always
a plus for technology-freaks like me. The test I took
today took me about an hour to finish. It was first a
regular form that most of the jobs ask for(Like if you
would steal money and shit), and then a SAT-like test to
see your skillz, then a computer test to see your
computer skillz, and then finally ending it with
keyboarding typing skills. And if you think that's all,
then you're still not grasping the absurdity of how much
they go to hire someone. Not only is the start interview
not enough, if your test results seem good, you have to
go interview with the head of that department, only then
interviewing with store manager, if you go that far.
Just like in the strip, I felt like I was being
interviewed for a government job of some kind.
Hey, who knows, it could be, right? Like a
crazy-ass conspiracy or something, using clerks as
futuristic star fighters against invading aliens... Or
just janitors for secret buildings... Either way sounds
plausible, so, yeah...
