"Hey."
"What?"
"Did you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"That."
"Huh?"
"Never mind..."
Ryo opened his eyes, the blanket that covered him filtered the sunlight into a warm glow. Eliza was sitting on the edge of the bed, her long red hair covering her face.
"Hey." She opened her voice again.
"What?" Ryo slipped his head out of his blanketed cover.
"What day is it?"
"April fools day."
"Oh."
Eliza gave out a sigh and looked at Ryo. The room wasn't as bright as it was yesterday morning. "I guess this is the last day of the trial, huh?"
"Yes, it is." Ryo answered with a rasp.
"If I don't see you again, know that I'm thankful for all the time I spent with you."
Ryo could only nod to that.
"I'll start packing now." She whispered as she slowly got up.
She always walked out in such a quiet, cat-like way.
