When detective Ryo Hayashi arrived on the scene, the place was
still fresh and there were no yellow police lines cautioning the
population to not cross into the scene. Some officers outside
were slowly setting it up, and were surprised at how fast the
detective arrived at the location.
The taste of scrambled eggs and bacon still lingered in Ryo's
tongue.
The place was just your average apartment, two bedrooms with a
living room, bathroom and kitchen. The living room consisted of
an old striped gray couch, the cushions littered with comic
books and bean bag chairs. The comic books also littered the
black poker table that was standing on the side, along with
unopened bills and bags of books and candy.
Ryo picked one of the bills up, and read the name on it. "Who's
this Brett Day?" He asked as an officer came into the living
room.
"That's the deceased's roommate, sir."
"Where is he at?"
"Outside, in the ambulance." The officer replied.
"Thanks, I'll need to speak to him soon."
Placing the bill down on the table again, Ryo looked at the pile
of videogame consoles under the TV, all the current and last
generation consoles were present at the pile, something that
made a gamer like Ryo sort of jealous at heart.
Peeking into the bedroom by the bathroom, he could still see the
body of Eiji Shinrow lying lifelessly on the cold tile floor. |
